Course structure

In this course, the specific components of the French exam are studied, worked through and intensively deepened. The intensive course is an ideal complement to our six-month Gymnasium preparation course and offers your child more time to practice the French part of the exam. A basic knowledge of French is required as this is a "learning to the test" course and the aim of this course is in particular the training of typical exam tasks.
1
Acquire knowledge
Listening:
  • How do I extract the most important information from short, French listening texts?

Language exercises:
  • Times: présent, futur composé/proche, passé composé avec être et avoir
  • Formulations of questions: interrogation avec «est-ce que»
  • Adjectives: formation du féminin et du pluriel
  • Vocabulary: vocabulary incl. verb lists

Reading comprehension:
  • How do I find the most important information in a French text quickly and efficiently?
  • How do I formulate the answers so that I get full points?

Writing task:
  • How can I describe a picture or tell a story in French?
  • How do I use the appropriate tense?
  • How do I formulate varied, exciting sentences in French?
2
Transfer knowledge
On the course days, the students take listening and reading comprehension exams, including language observation, and apply their acquired knowledge. The exam is discussed with the students to fill any gaps. The writing assignments are initiated from home and the teacher provides comprehensive feedback with suggestions for improvement.
3
Check knowledge
On the fifth day of the course, a French mock exam "as in real" will take place, which will also be evaluated and scored according to the exam. The results will be discussed with the students on the last day of the course and valuable, individual tips for practicing for the last weeks until the exam will be given.
